World Book Day 2017

2nd March 2017
World Book Day 2017 - Thursday 2nd March

We had a great time celebrating World Book Day and it was fantastic to see so many children dressed up for our 'Where's Wally?' theme... it made for some great photos!

Every year at Brownhills West we celebrate World Book Day which this year falls on Thursday 2nd March 2017.  Throughout the day children will take part in a variety of reading activities, house quizzes and peer reading.

This year marks the 30th anniversary of the Where’s Wally? books so for this year’s dress up we would like children to either come dressed in stripes (not necessarily red and white, although  the red may come in handy for Red Nose Day’s wear red event on March 24th), or dressed as a character from the Where’s Wally books. We wanted to give you plenty of notice in order to arrange an outfit!

In addition, we’d love for children to bring their favourite book to school to read with other children.

On the day, children will all receive a £1 book voucher which can be exchanged for a range of special World Book Day books in many shops.

We hope children will enjoy taking part in this celebration of books and reading!
