Rotakids meet every Tuesday lunchtime with Keith, Deryck and Roger from the local Rotary clubs in our area. We discuss raising money for good causes and to help fund items needed for school, such as soft furnishings for our sensory garden.
We are currently in the process of setting up a Lendwithcare account. This will enable us to lend money to people in other countries to help towards funding their business. These people are fully vetted and the money is paid back as a loan to our Rotakids account in full over an agreed amount of time. We currently have £610.72 which will help this good cause to get up and running over the next couple of weeks.
Also Deryck has arranged for a lady to visit after half term regarding our help to buy stationery and soap for school girls in Gambia . They have had showers fitted at their school as they do not have them at home but unfortunately they haven`t got the funds to buy soap. Therefore, Rotakids have offered to help. We hope our Talent show on Friday 14th February proves successful; we look forward to organising more events in the near future in-order to help other organisations who need it.
Our Lendwithcare is now fully operational as from 4th February and we have chosen the first six candidates to support and donated £15 to each one. We look forward to hearing how our money has helped them to` Dream Big `and start up their own business.
Up coming events:
Rotakids are organising a family film quiz which will take place on Monday 30th March after school at 3:40pm. Why not come along and show off your film knowledge skills. Refreshments will be available, more details to follow shortly.
Our talent show was a huge success and was enjoyed by all. Rotakids raised £37. Well done! A winner from each class was chosen and they received a power token each.
Our next event is our family film quiz on Monday 30th March. We hope everyone will join us. Refreshments will be available and the cost of the quiz will be £2 per family. All proceeds will go towards finishing our sensory garden.
