School Meals
At Brownhills West, our school dinners are prepared on-site and provided by Mellors Catering Service. At their last recent inspection, they received a 5 star hygiene rating from FSA.
Mellors Catering Services is an award-winning family business which is committed to delivering an exciting choice of food. They use the finest, freshest ingredients from local suppliers which means better quality food.
Mellors follow government nutritional guidance to provide healthy, tasty school meals. Take a look at the photos below to see some of the meals our children have enjoyed so far this year.
The cost of a school dinner is £2.70 per day for children in Years 3, 4, 5 and 6. From September 2026, meals will increase slightly to £2.81.
Payments for school lunches is by using a cashless payment system through Arbor.
Free School Meals
From September 2026, the government are expanding the critieria of eligibility for children to receive Free School Meals, so it is worth checking if your child is now eligible.

Children in the Reception - Year 2 are entitled to receive this meal free of charge under the government’s universal free school meal scheme.
You may wish to send your child with their own packed lunch from home which is still fine.

School dinners are ordered and paid for using the Arbor system.

Menu
Menus change on a three week basis (see below.) Please note: Ham, Jam and Cheese sandwiches are now available every day.
Tuck
Please see Tuck Menu for choices.
If your child would like tuck they can order and pay daily. Tuck has to be paid for in cash, and cannot be paid for on the Arbor App .
Allergies & Intolerances
If your child has an allergy or intolerance, our catering company Mellors require an Allergen Pack to be completed and medical evidence provided.
These packs are available from the school office.
